According to PIN, OIEC declared it intends to identify qualified contractors for the execution of all services for drilling offshore oil and gas wells including drilling of 1 appraisal and 10 development wells on EPDS basis.

According to OIEC, the project area is the giant South Pars gas field phase 20 in Persian Gulf.

General criteria for the potential contractors are sound financial status and if possible financing capability, relevant previous experience on similar EPDS contracts, previous experience in offshore drilling, availability of contractors means in every respect, organizational ability to cover all aspects of the works, capability to maximize Iranian content.
